Man, 48, is charged with attempted murder after a New York stabbing ends with police shooting a knife-wielding woman
A bloodied man appeared at a window and told police his uncle had attacked him with a knife. The uncle, Rashawn Donovan, 48, lives at the South Ozone Park address and faces two counts of attempted murder. A 39-year-old woman was shot in the shoulder, leg and chest after she advanced on officers while armed with a knife and refused to comply with their commands. NYPD Chief of Patrol Philip Rivera said investigators do not believe she was responsible for the home invasion or the initial stabbing. All four injured parties remain in stable condition.
The bleeding man, visible through the window, named his uncle as the one who had stabbed him.
When officers entered the bedroom, they found the woman on top of two men who were tangled together on the floor.
Rivera said she was 'within several feet of the officers' when one opened fire.
