Man, 61, is charged with murdering housing officer, 47, who was stabbed at work and crashed trying to reach hospital
Ger-y-Nant retirement complex in Bridgend, where a 61-year-old man was later found barricaded in his room and arrested on suspicion of murder.
Clifford Foster, 61, will appear at Newport Magistrates' Court on Friday charged with the murder of Eleanor Barnfield. It is alleged the mother-of-two told him he should not have been in a flat at Ger-y-Nant sheltered housing in Bridgend, and she was then stabbed. She got just 300 yards before collapsing at the wheel and crashing into a wall on Coity Road. Police say it is not a domestic incident.
Armed police were called after the suspect barricaded himself in, and all residents were evacuated.
The Welsh Ambulance Service denies that ambulance waits made her drive, saying medics arrived within seven minutes.
Her family said: 'Mum was the kindest, most loving bravest person in the world.'
