Man, 61, is due in court charged with murdering a housing officer who was stabbed before crashing her car in Bridgend
Clifford Foster, 61, is due to appear at Newport Magistrates' Court today accused of murdering Eleanor Barnfield, 47. The mother-of-two was stabbed at the Ger-y-Nant sheltered housing complex, managed 300 yards, then collapsed at the wheel on Coity Road. Foster is allegedly been in a flat where she told him he should not be. He is accused, not convicted.
Barnfield's family said: 'Mum was the kindest, most loving bravest person in the world.'
The Welsh Ambulance Service called claims of a delayed ambulance response 'factually untrue'.
An armed standoff lasted around 12 hours before a man was led away in a police van.
