Man accused of murdering Alisha Samuels is punched and robbed in an HMP Liverpool cell as inmates film the attack

Lawrence Johnson, 26, charged with the murder of Alisha Samuels in Newton Heath, Manchester, was attacked and robbed in his cell at HMP Liverpool over the weekend by fellow prisoners who recorded the assault on a smuggled mobile phone. Video circulating online shows Johnson dressed in a grey prison-issue tracksuit being repeatedly punched while one voice shouts 'smash him up' and another inmate demands his possessions be taken from him.
Johnson was charged on October 21 after Samuels, also 26, was discovered with multiple stab wounds at around 2am on October 15 on Dorking Avenue.
Two co-accused, Carl Hardy and Tony Evans, both 19, also face murder and attempted murder charges and were remanded in custody on October 23.
The Ministry of Justice has ordered the 'immediate removal' of the posts and is investigating how a phone got behind bars.
