Man accused of Belfast knife attack that cost a man his left eye denies attempted murder ahead of February trial

Hadi Alodid, 31, of Duncairn Avenue in north Belfast, denied all three charges through an Arabic interpreter at Belfast Crown Court. Police have said he may originally be from Chad. Steven Ogilvie suffered deep lacerations across his head, face and back in the attack on 8 June. The trial is scheduled to begin on 1 February.

A further threatening behaviour count relates to an incident hours after the attack.

Lawyers requested a two-week window be reserved for the trial.
