Man admits wounding victims of Huntingdon train mass stabbing but denies 14 counts of attempted murder ahead of next week's trial

Anthony Williams, 33, of Peterborough, entered his pleas at Cambridge Crown Court by video link from Rampton Hospital in Nottinghamshire. He admitted 12 counts of wounding with intent and two of attempting to wound, covering the LNER train and earlier attacks in Peterborough and London. Prosecutor Christopher Paxton KC said the pleas 'do not resolve the indictment, so there will be a trial'. Williams is due to face a jury next week.
Armed officers made their arrest only eight minutes after the initial 999 call last November.
He also admitted taking kitchen knives from an Asda in Stevenage the day before the attacks.
Williams showed no emotion, wearing a plain white T-shirt as he answered 'guilty' to each charge.
