A man and a woman have been charged following the petrol-bomb attack on the English family's Waterford home at around 5am last Tuesday. Investigators believe a crime gang targeted Philip English to terrorise him into paying a debt of up to €20,000 run up by an associate. He had no involvement in crime. The couple's two sons, Callum, 12, and Jayden, nine, died along with their parents.
One of the Waterford arson attack suspects had been on temporary release from prison at the time.
Garda Commissioner Justin Kelly: 'We do anticipate further arrests in this case.'
A witness recalled: 'Kim was screaming. The kids were screaming. None of us could get to them.'
