Jack Dragsnes, 22, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Friday charged with murdering Jack Mellon after allegedly drawing a knife during a street brawl and stabbing the 17-year-old multiple times. According to court papers, Dragsnes was involved in a stand-up fight with Mellon and a 16-year-old boy on Ashgill Road in Milton on October 14 before producing the blade. Sheriff Iain Fleming remanded Dragsnes in custody, with a further hearing scheduled within eight days.

Dragsnes, of Possilpark, also faces a charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice through concealment or destruction of the knife, along with a separate charge of carrying a blade in public.

Brother James led tributes online, writing: 'A part of my heart has gone with you, and words can't explain the pain I'm feeling right now.'

Residents in Milton described themselves as 'heartbroken' and 'unnerved', with one grandmother saying she is now scared to let her grandchildren play outside.
