Man in his 30s is held on suspicion of murder after a body is found in a Plymouth wheelie bin

A day after paramedics found him partially inside a wheelie bin in a service lane off Grand Parade in West Hoe, the victim had yet to be formally identified. Emergency services were called at 6.40am on Wednesday and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Forensic officers were photographed examining the bin today. Grand Parade and Garden Crescent remain closed.

Detective Inspector Chris Lithgow says the investigation is "moving at a significant pace".

Police are appealing for CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage from 6pm Tuesday onwards.

Authorities have asked the public to refrain from speculating about the case or posting footage on social media.
