The driver, a woman in her 70s, is thought to have been taken ill at the wheel and has now been released from hospital. Officers say they will interview her in due course. Sergeant Chloe Collins urged anyone driving near Finchfield Hill between 5pm and 6pm on Friday to come forward with dashcam footage. Two people remain in hospital with serious injuries.

The victim, a man in his 30s, was given advanced life support but died at the scene.

The car ended up on the shop floor beside a crushed trolley and a bent bollard.

Police are not treating the man's death as suspicious.
