Pengo Bossio Wangi, 26, trained at the Atch Academy in Aubervilliers, which paid tribute: 'Pengo was one of us.' He died near a preschool in Trappes after a gunman fired from a moving vehicle across three locations over 15 minutes. Five others were wounded, including a 12-year-old girl who sustained eight gunshot wounds. Suspect Kévin T., 39, was arrested in Coignières; French authorities have not formally named the victim.

A Second World War Sten-type submachine gun was found in the suspect's car.

His flat was booby-trapped with three gas cylinders wired to a timer.

Trappes mayor Ali Rabeh described the attacker as 'wanting to cause a bloodbath'.
