Pengo Bossio Wangi, 26, was mourned by the Atch Academy in Aubervilliers, which said 'Pengo was one of us'. The suspect, Kévin T., who was born in 1987, carried out shootings at multiple locations across Trappes and La Verrière. Police found a Sten-type submachine gun in his car and his apartment rigged with gas cylinders connected to a timer.

A 12-year-old girl was shot eight times, and three victims have life-threatening injuries.

President Emmanuel Macron said victims were targeted for their 'skin colour or perceived religion'.

Kévin T. had four previous convictions, all automatically expunged under French law.
