Hampshire engineer who is accused of raping and murdering his partner visited two sex workers within hours, a jury hears
Joanna Derkacz was found dead on her bed by her sister, who fled the house screaming that he had killed her, as Stephen Sexton, 39, goes on trial for her rape and murder.
Prosecutors allege that Stephen Sexton's 'first thought after the point of death was to try and find prostitutes'. Sexton, 39, is accused of strangling Joanna Derkacz, 37, at their Waterlooville home at some point between 12.20am and 12.46am on December 28, 2023. He then allegedly took her car to Portsmouth on two occasions, at 1.49am and 2.50am. He has pleaded not guilty to murder, rape and coercive control at Winchester Crown Court.
Joanna had told police he was 'very controlling' fewer than three weeks before she died.
Jurors heard that she discovered a concealed Apple AirTag tracker fitted beneath her car's wheel arch.
Her sister Arleta discovered the body and ran out screaming: 'He has killed my sister.'
