Manhunt is launched for a man and woman who fled after a police officer was shot in Nottingham city centre

The officer had approached the pair on Angel Row at 4.50am on Sunday, seconds before the weapon discharged. He is receiving hospital treatment for a gunshot wound to his foot. Detectives recovered a firearm at the scene, though both suspects fled and remain at large. Nottinghamshire Police are urging anyone with information to call 101, quoting incident 106 of 18 October 2026.

Assistant Chief Constable Claire Rukas called it 'a sobering reminder' of the dangers officers face.

A cordon stretches along Angel Row from Old Market Square to Upper Parliament Road.

Night-shift worker Curtis Jackson, 22, said someone was 'in town with a gun ready to use it'.
