Manhunt under way after gunman opens fire at Swiss rave near Zurich, killing one and injuring five
A gunman opened fire at a rave near Zurich at the Schachen horse racing track on the outskirts of Aarau, with police saying several shots were fired at a large group.
A gunman killed one person and injured five at a rave at the Schachen horse racing track on the outskirts of Aarau, in the northern Swiss canton of Aargau, shortly after 2.30am on Sunday. Police called on the public to keep away from the area as a large-scale response got under way, involving the Aarau Cantonal Disaster Response Unit and an army Super Puma helicopter.
Police say 'several shots were fired at a large group of people' and the situation remains ongoing.
The police operation forced Aarau's public swimming pool to shut with no reopening date given.
Media spokesperson Vanessa Rumpold said it is 'not yet clear what exactly happened'.
