MasterChef judge Marcus Wareing says sacked Gregg Wallace is 'moving on' but the scandal was 'nothing to do with me'

Marcus Wareing, who has sat on the MasterChef: The Professionals judging panel since 2014, says he now follows Gregg Wallace mainly through social media rather than staying in regular contact. "He looks really well and I'm pleased for him," Wareing said. Wallace, 62, lost his BBC role in July 2025 when an independent report upheld 45 allegations against him. Wareing described the fallout as "tough" for both Wallace and John Torode.

Torode's dismissal followed an upheld allegation that he used "an extremely offensive racist term".

Wallace apologised but maintained that the report cleared him of "the most serious and sensational allegations".

Wareing on staying in contact: "Constant communication with the people of the past is that constant reminder."
