Martin Freeman secretly marries French actress Rachel Benaissa after six years together at London Film Festival

Martin Freeman, 55, has married his partner of six years, Rachel Benaissa, 34, with the union revealed when both wore wedding rings on the red carpet at the BFI London Film Festival on Wednesday. A spokesperson confirmed the marriage, though the date and location of the ceremony remain undisclosed. Freeman promoted his new film 'A Long Winter' alongside co-stars Fred Hechinger and Caitríona Balfe at the Royal Festival Hall event. Benaissa, a French-born writer, actress and producer, is known for her roles in 'Normal People', 'This Way Up' and Netflix's 'Irish Wish'.
Freeman and Benaissa co-founded independent production company One Trick Poné together.
Freeman was previously in a 16-year relationship with Sherlock co-star Amanda Abbington, with whom he shares son Joe, 20, and daughter Grace, 18.
Freeman once described his new wife on podcast 'Table Manners' as 'a massive cheese and wine w***e — that's what she would say about herself.'
