MasterChef judge Marcus Wareing insists the BBC scandal was 'nothing to do with me' and says Gregg Wallace is 'moving on'

Marcus Wareing has acknowledged that he is no longer in regular touch with Gregg Wallace, noting that 'life goes on' and that social media is now his only window into Wallace's life. The BBC dismissed Wallace in July 2025 following an independent report that upheld 45 misconduct allegations against him, among them the use of inappropriate sexual language and one incident of unwanted physical contact. Wareing described the departures of both Wallace and John Torode as 'tough' for the two men.

Torode was dismissed after a complaint that he had used 'an extremely offensive racist term' was upheld.

Wallace, 62, reportedly posted an apology on Substack in January but attributed the behaviour to the culture on set.

Wareing on Wallace: 'He looks really well and I'm pleased for him.'
