Mia Perry Bowick, Matthew Perry's younger sister, reveals in the new Netflix docuseries 'The One About Matthew Perry' that she had not seen his five co-stars in nearly 20 years before Jennifer Aniston was the first to embrace her at the service. Perry spent $7 million trying to get sober before his accidental ketamine overdose death in October 2023, aged 54. The three-part documentary, directed by Mary Robertson, debuted on Netflix on 27 October.
Bowick says she sensed her brother's presence beside her during the funeral, imagining him whispering: 'How f***ed up is this?'
None of the five Friends cast members — Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer or Matt LeBlanc — participated in the documentary itself.
Five people, including Perry's live-in assistant Kenneth Iwamasa and dealer Jasveen Sangha, known as 'the Ketamine Queen', were convicted in connection with his death.
