Meg Mathews, 60, reveals her secret breast cancer battle and says a double mastectomy was an 'easy' decision

Meg Mathews, ex-wife of Noel Gallagher, discovered she had HER2-negative breast cancer in November 2024 after a routine mammogram detected three pea-sized lumps at the back of her left breast — lumps she says she would never have found on her own. Within days of her diagnosis, she ruled out chemotherapy or radiotherapy and opted for a double mastectomy instead, which she underwent in March 2025. Eleven days after surgery, a pathologist confirmed she was cancer free.

Mathews says she 'didn't feel scared' at diagnosis, telling herself: 'I'm strong, I'm going to get through it.'
