Meghan Markle, 45, will not accompany Prince Harry to the WellChild Awards ceremony in London on Monday evening, her first major opportunity to appear publicly since the couple moved back to the UK with children Archie and Lilibet in late August after six years in the US. She is reportedly feeling 'very homesick', missing California and 'much more nervous about being out in public in England'.
Meghan would reportedly 'go back home tomorrow' but fears even a short trip would look like 'an admission of failure'.
Meghan also stayed away when Harry attended consecutive Invictus Games events last week, sparking speculation about her wellbeing.
Harry has attended the WellChild Awards 15 times and called this year 'particularly special' as it marks 20 years of the WellChild Nurse programme.
