Meghan's father Thomas Markle admits paying for sex in the Philippines but denies hoarding child abuse images

'I like Asian women but that is not a crime,' Thomas Markle, 82, insisted, saying he twice travelled to the Philippines and 'slept with prostitutes' while single. Cebu City police are investigating claims he kept child abuse images at his former home there. His son Thomas Markle Jr, 60, says he found them in four boxes. The father claims anything on his computers 'was put there by someone else'.

Daughter Samantha Markle backs her father: 'I believe this is a set-up.'

The Met admits it never shared the letter's claims with other police forces.

Meghan says she kept her children away from him for one reason: 'to protect them'.
