Meghan vowed never to wear French designer's clothes again after his staff asked Kate's stylist to return them, memoir claims
Roland Mouret, 65, says the Duchess of Sussex rang him 'furious', telling him: 'You don't realise what you've done! You've embarrassed me!' She allegedly refused his apology for the blunder by a member of his team. A year later she wore what he calls a 'cheap high street copy' of his design, and he texted her that it was 'ridiculous'. His memoir is due out on 22 October.
Mouret met Meghan in Istanbul in 2015, when she confided she was dating a 'nice British guy'.
Mouret insists: 'Meghan's decision was hers, not the palace's. I don't think anyone else cared.'
Meghan wore a strapless navy Mouret dress in her As Ever promotional photos in February.
