Meghan told French designer she could 'never wear' his clothes again after his staff called Kate's stylist, memoir claims
Roland Mouret claims Meghan rang him in a fury, shouting 'You've embarrassed me!' after the mix-up at Kensington Palace. He had sent her a rack of outfits in 2016, soon after she began dating Prince Harry. A year after the row, he spotted her in what he calls a 'cheap high street copy' of his work. His memoir, 'I Am Roland Mouret: The Butcher's Boy Who Dressed the World', is due out on 22 October.
Mouret texted her that wearing a knockoff was 'ridiculous' and begged: 'Come back.'
He insists the boycott was Meghan's own call, 'not the palace's, not anybody else's'.
Meghan has since worn his designs again, including a navy dress in an As Ever promotion.
