Melania Trump brokers a ceasefire for starving elderly in the Russian-occupied Ukrainian city of Oleshky, due to start on 29 October
The Kremlin has confirmed the truce and says it is working with Ukraine on evacuation timing. Some 2,000 people remain trapped in Oleshky, down from 24,000 before the war, and residents have reportedly resorted to eating weeds and dogs. Aid will enter and civilians can leave through a safe passageway. Russia has also agreed to trilateral peace talks with the US and Ukraine in the UAE next month.
Melania Trump: 'Without my intervention' aid and evacuation 'would be impossible'.
An 'impartial American media organization' will travel to Oleshky to document the evacuation.
Zelensky has called the situation in the blockaded city 'genocide'.
