Forecasters have raised their temperature outlook for London this week, with Friday projected to hit 26C as high pressure builds over southern Britain. The Met Office cautions that the warm spell will fall short of official heatwave status, which demands 28C across three consecutive days. Overnight rain on Friday is forecast to mark the likely close of summer-like conditions.

Tuesday evening will remain mild, with overnight lows not expected to fall below 20C.
