A yellow weather warning covering southern, central, and eastern England remains active until 10am on Friday, with the Met Office predicting visibility falling below 100 metres in places. The morning rush hour is expected to bring widespread disruption across several forms of transport. While most areas should see the fog gradually clear, rural eastern districts may see it persist into the afternoon.

London, the South East, the East Midlands, West Midlands, and East of England are all within the affected zone.

Buses, trains, ferries, and flights are all at risk of delays, and travellers are advised to check for updates and leave extra time for their journeys.

Driving conditions are described as hazardous, with some rural eastern areas likely to remain foggy well beyond the 10am end of the warning period.
