Met admits it passed a letter with abuse claims about Meghan's father to the Sussexes but NOT to other police
Scotland Yard is considering a self-referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct over the letter, which arrived at its Protection Command in January 2019. Meghan said she was assured the claims were under investigation, yet the force reportedly never investigated Thomas Markle Sr. Her spokesman acknowledged she may have been 'mistaken by a few months' about the date. Markle Sr, 82, denies the claims, calling them 'sick lies'.
Police in the Philippines are now investigating claims of child abuse images at Markle Sr's home.
The police watchdog said the Met had not yet contacted it about a referral.
Thomas Markle Jr challenged his father to explain 'how it all got there'.
