Met Police may refer itself to watchdog after failing to pass on letter accusing Meghan's father of child abuse

Scotland Yard's Fixated Threat Assessment Centre received the letter in January 2019 but passed it only to the Sussexes' office, never to the FBI or any other force. Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is 'concerned' it went nowhere for seven years. Dai Davies, former head of royalty protection, said he was 'gobsmacked'. Thomas Markle Sr, 82, denies the claims, calling them 'sick lies'.

Markle's first wife, Roslyn Loveless, reportedly wrote the letter, according to multiple sources.

Philippine police are investigating images that Thomas Markle Jr handed to them.

Meghan's spokesperson conceded she 'may have been mistaken by a few months' on the date.
