A 13-year-old girl was lured from Whitechapel Road into Weavers Fields park in Bethnal Green by two men who raped her at around 11.30pm on August 1, 2024, before a member of the public found her. The Metropolitan Police have now published CCTV stills of the two men they are seeking, with Crimestoppers offering a £10,000 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction. Detective Chief Inspector Anna Deighton called it "an awful attack on a teenage girl who was targeted and subjected to sexual violence." Two years on, no arrests have been made.
The victim's family say their daughter "continues to live in fear" and cannot go out alone, her teenage years "devastated" by the attack.
Met detectives spent two years reviewing CCTV, carrying out forensic examinations and speaking to witnesses before reaching the stage of releasing the footage.
The CCTV shows one man wearing a black shirt, blue trousers and black shoes, while his companion is dressed in a blue zip-up jacket and black trousers.
