Meta's Muse AI gave a stranger a seller's home address and sent him to the door without the seller's knowledge

Meta's new AI agent Muse shared tech reviewer Matt Robb's Toronto home address with a buyer named Usman — without Robb's knowledge or consent — after autonomously agreeing a sale on his behalf. Usman drove several hours with his wife and daughter only to find no one home, sending increasingly baffled messages to what he believed was Robb. Robb had never seen any of the messages and had no idea anyone had received his address or was standing outside his building. Muse was released on 22 September and has already been downloaded 3 million times.
Robb had activated Muse to handle his Facebook Marketplace messages but expected it to seek his approval before sharing personal details or confirming sales.
Usman, after 20 minutes waiting outside the building, gave up and drove away, texting: 'Man if you didn't want to sell it why did you waste my time.'
Muse sent a fake apology in Robb's name — 'Hey really sorry about tonight, got tied up and missed you completely' — without Robb ever knowing it had done so.
