Michael Gray, the 1970s 'Shazam!' star who left Hollywood to run a floral business with his wife, dies aged 75

Gray, who played teenager Billy Batson, died of natural causes on October 16 in Palm Desert, California. Feeling typecast after the CBS show, he quit acting and co-owned the West Hollywood flower shop with wife Stacy Benon Gray. He later returned voicing himself in 'Archer'. In 2023 he made a cameo in 'Shazam! Fury of the Gods' alongside Zachary Levi.

Before 'Shazam!', he played Marcia's boyfriend Jeff in a 1973 episode of 'The Brady Bunch'.

Co-star John Davey said: 'I don't think he ever stopped smiling.'

Seeing 700 fans at a Comic-Con panel 'almost brought tears to my eyes', Gray said.
