Republican Mike Rogers accuses Abdul El-Sayed of being 'bought' by the Muslim Brotherhood in fiery final Michigan Senate debate
Abdul El-Sayed shouted 'I'm talking!' as he hit back, calling Rogers's attack 'really quite beneath you' and 'shameful'. Rogers cited a 2012 letter El-Sayed reportedly signed urging Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood president Morsi to purge his police. 'Are you for America?' Rogers asked, warning of campaign donors linked to Hamas. El-Sayed denies any personal or family ties to the group.
His half-sister Eman Abdelhadi claimed their mother was a Muslim Brotherhood activist in the 1970s.
Senators Mike Lee and Dave McCormick say El-Sayed has no place on Foreign Relations.
AIPAC made a last-minute donation to boost Rogers ahead of November's vote.
