Miliband and Healey mocked for 'cringe-making' tuktuk influencer stunt in Bangkok two weeks before Budget

Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband and Chancellor John Healey have been ridiculed after filming a social media clip tasting Thai snacks on a tuktuk in Bangkok while attending IMF and World Bank talks. Miliband, referencing his disastrous 2014 bacon sandwich moment, said "eating on camera has not been my forte" before declaring the food "arguably better than pork scratchings." The stunt came as the UK faces record-high borrowing costs, soaring fuel prices and Healey prepares a bruising Budget in under a fortnight.

Shadow Chancellor Andrew Griffith demanded: 'Are they serious? Taxpayers are fleeing Britain and the Chancellor is pretending to be an influencer.'

Nigel Farage called the clip 'cringe-making', asking why politicians can't 'just be as they are' instead of playing at being 'cool kids'.
