Million-pound homeowners in a Hampshire village say they no longer feel safe after balaclava-clad travellers bulldozed a field

Diggers and vans rolled onto Hares Farm in South Warnborough at about 5.30pm on Friday 28 August, just as council staff left for the Bank Holiday weekend. Much of the eight-acre greenbelt site, once used for crops, is now under tarmac and gravel. Caravans and mobile homes are already in place and are reportedly being rented out. The land was reportedly bought for more than £100,000.

Residents say masked workers in hoodies drove the machinery, calling it 'particularly intimidating'.

Locals also report threats and fear their homes could become hard to sell.

Critics link the case to Angela Rayner's December 2024 rules on releasing greenbelt land to travellers.
