Minge Lane signs are concreted into the ground because tourists keep stealing them as a souvenir

Residents of Minge Lane in Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire, are so proud of their notoriously named street that they hold an annual summer festival to celebrate it. The road tops a new Asda Money survey of the UK's rudest place names, alongside Sluts Hole Lane in Norfolk, Sandy Balls in the New Forest, and Shitterton in Dorset. Mayor Jeremy Owenson says the signs had to be concreted in after repeated thefts, and now hopes snap-happy tourists will also spend money in the town.
Owenson says locals are 'very proud' of the name, which derives from an old Anglo-Saxon word.
Bell End in Rowley Regis made the list too — a 2018 petition to rename it drew only 100 signatures, while a rival 'Leave Bell End Alone' campaign won 4,800.
More than half of Britons think the UK has the world's funniest road names, with 65% of drivers admitting a rude place name has distracted them at the wheel.
