Minister admits there will be no 'bus police' to enforce Burnham's new £100 fines for loud music on buses

Science minister Chris McDonald told Times Radio the penalties would work the same way as any other rule or law in the UK. Over the past five years, Transport for London has handed out just four fines for loud music. Those playing music on buses face a £100 fine, rising to £1,000 on trains. Kemi Badenoch said ticket inspectors are 'scared' and train drivers 'don't want to get involved'.

Prime Minister Andy Burnham filmed a train video promoting the crackdown on 'loudcasting'.

Assaults on passengers rose 36 per cent to 13,464, the highest since 2004.

Badenoch says she personally tells young passengers to turn their music down.
