Minnesota prosecutor charges James O'Keefe with unlawful voting over a 'Muslim garb' polling stunt despite his NEVER casting a ballot
James O'Keefe, 42, and Cam Higby, 26, were charged on Wednesday by Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty with felony unlawful voting and identity theft after they used real registered voters' names at polling places during Minnesota's August 11 primary. The pair dressed in "Muslim garb" — including a full-face niqab — and spoke in fake accents while filming undercover footage intended to expose what O'Keefe called the "sheer lunacy" of the state's vouching system. Moriarty admitted the men stopped short of signing the voting oath and never actually cast a ballot.
Minnesota's vouching law, used for 0.6% of votes in 2024, lets registered voters confirm another person's address so they can cast a ballot.
Higby branded the charges "lawfare" and "FASCISM," claiming authorities want to silence journalists who challenge the system.
The real William Pomeranz — whose name O'Keefe used with election officials — said he began receiving strange messages from people on primary day.
