Minnesota restaurant owner is jailed for 30 years for claiming 6,000 meals a day when FBI cameras saw JUST 40

Salim Said, 37, a Somali-born Minneapolis restaurant owner, was sentenced to 30 years in prison on Wednesday after prosecutors called his fraud "a calculated, lucrative lie" — inventing thousands of fictitious children to steal $44 million meant for hungry kids during the pandemic.

Said's proceeds funded a $1.2 million home, commercial real estate, and an $87,000 pickup truck.

US District Judge Nancy Brasel told him: 'You took the reputation of our state down with you.'

Trump has repeatedly cited the sprawling Minnesota scandal — dozens convicted — as grounds for an immigration crackdown in Minneapolis and St Paul.
