Non-verbal autistic boy, 6, missing for three days in Kentucky walks out of the bushes to greet horseback searchers

Roman Heilman, a non-verbal autistic six-year-old, emerged from woodland near Louisa, Kentucky, singing 'E-I-E-I-O horsey' as he walked straight towards a team of horseback riders who had been searching for him. He was found around a mile and a half from his family home on Tadpole Road, scratched from thorny plants and without clothing, three days after vanishing on Sunday afternoon.
Jacob Mullins, a horse trail rider from Louisiana, and Patrick Finley, a welder from West Virginia, guided ten riders through more than 14 miles of hilly woodland before sunrise on Tuesday.
Roman was wrapped in a sweatshirt and carried down the mountain on horseback before being checked by emergency medical crews, who found him alert.
A small dog was at Roman's side when he emerged; rescuers had earlier found his diaper, pants and jacket abandoned in the woods.
