Kohen Wiley's family lawyer Ben Crump is demanding release of the body-camera footage, saying no one should accept the ruling without seeing it. Attorney General Lynn Fitch's office will not charge the Senatobia officer, named by Crump as Sergeant Hunter Foster. Foster fired into a car outside a Walmart over alleged shoplifting on June 14. Neither Vellesiya Wiley nor her friend was charged.
Senatobia's police chief Harold Vanderford was fired last month over racial slurs in texts.
Crump says an independent autopsy found the fatal shot came through the passenger-side window.
The officer's lawyer, Martin Zummach, insists the driver 'tried to kill' his client.
