Fans are travelling to Kurtdere Plateau in the Macka district of Trabzon to sit on the same rock where Salah posed for a photograph during a day trip, with videos showing visitors forming queues to recreate the image. The rock has earned the nickname 'Salahtasi' — Salah's rock — while content creators have erected a sign reading 'Salah Yaylasi', meaning Salah Plateau, fixing it into the ground with a sledgehammer. Salah joined Trabzonspor in August 2026 on a two-year contract after nine years at Liverpool.
The viral photograph was taken after Salah visited Sumela Monastery and explored the surrounding highland scenery on a day off.
The surge in visitors has caused noticeably heavier vehicle traffic on the plateau road.
Salah's form on the pitch has matched his cultural impact — he scored a hat trick and added an assist as Trabzonspor thrashed Galatasaray 4-0 on Saturday, giving him seven goals in six league appearances.
