Mom 'never wanted to get pregnant' and resented toddler son for stealing husband's attention, warrant reveals

Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, bore a deep grudge against her three-year-old son Tristan because he took her husband Charles's attention away from her, according to a search warrant outlining the alleged motive behind the Great Wolf Lodge killings. Her own family described her as "dominant, controlling." Harrison is charged with two counts of criminal homicide, prosecutors alleging she drove butcher knives — brought from the family's Towanda home — into the chests of both Charles and Tristan during a three-week stay at the Pocono resort on 12 October. Detectives searched the family home on Wednesday, seizing nearly a dozen knives together with a journal, a financial notebook and a laptop as they assembled a case on motive. Investigators regard the attack as premeditated, noting that Harrison had allegedly drained the family's 401k retirement account to fund the stay, which cost more than $600 per night.
After the stabbings, Harrison allegedly called 911 to ask which vein in her neck she should cut, telling the operator she was 'too weak to stab my neck.'
On the ambulance she insisted she had been 'the best mother' and moaned 'it wasn't supposed to end like this — I was supposed to have my happy family.'
Her stepmother April Thetga told investigators the kitchen knives used in the killings had been brought from the family home, adding: 'This was definitely preplanned, which is horrifying.'
