Metallica Rose Harrison, 27, allegedly stabbed her husband Charles, 36, and their three-year-old son Tristan in the chest at Great Wolf Lodge in Pennsylvania's Pocono region on Monday, before calling 911 to ask where to find a vein in her neck to kill herself. Search warrant documents reveal she told family she was "dominant, controlling" and resented Tristan for stealing her husband's attention. Investigators raided the family's home in Towanda and seized nearly a dozen knives, a journal, a financial notebook and a laptop as they hunted for a motive. Her stepmother April Thetga told reporters the killings were "definitely preplanned," citing butcher knives brought from home and a drained 401k account used to cover the cost of the resort visit.
Harrison moaned to paramedics that she was the "best mother" and sobbed: "It wasn't supposed to end like this."
The family spent three weeks at the resort, where rooms run upwards of $600 a night; the trip had been presented to Tristan as an early Christmas gift.
Harrison has been charged with two counts of criminal homicide; she reportedly told officers on arrival: "I'm suicidal, not stupid."
