Three more people are arrested in Ireland over the Waterford arson that killed a couple and their two young sons

A man in his 50s and two women in their 30s were detained on suspicion of aiding a crime gang, bringing the number arrested to five. Gardaí suspect a drugs gang tried to extort €20,000 from Philip English over a debt somebody else ran up. He died with wife Kim and their sons Callum, 12, and Jayden, nine. Their two other children, 14 and six, remain critical in hospital.

Jessica Dalton, 31, and Cian Stacey, 21, were remanded in custody until November 17.

As Dalton was taken to Waterford District Court in a prison van, a large crowd directed abuse at the vehicle.

The family's funeral heard they were innocent victims of a 'web of evil'.
