Most Americans and Canadians alike reject Trump's Canada tariffs, new poll finds

A new poll has found that 56 percent of Americans believe Trump was wrong to impose tariffs on Canadian imports, with just 26 percent backing the move. A third of American respondents even said Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney was right to hit back with his own "dollar-for-dollar" levies.

Talks between Washington and Ottawa collapsed in August, prompting Trump to impose the Canada tariffs that triggered a growing trade war.
