Mother who killed her three children is given an indefinite hospital order as mental health trust admits failings in her care
Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust has written to apologise for 'failings in the care' given to Yasmeen Ali, 44. She stabbed Fares Bash, seven, Joury Bash, three, and nine-month-old Mohammed Bash at their home on Blaise Walk in Sea Mills, Bristol, in February 2024. Charged with murder, she admitted manslaughter by diminished responsibility at Bristol Crown Court. Mr Justice Linden ruled her actions 'almost entirely attributable to mental disorder'.
Ali rang 999 after the attack and told police she was 'going to God'.
The children's father, Alfil Bash, left the courtroom as their injuries were read out.
The judge told Ali: 'You would not have done what you have if you were well.'
