MPs warn Labour is 'making up its China policy as it goes along' and demand a ban on Chinese tech
A cross-party committee of MPs has savaged Labour's approach to Beijing, warning the government is treating China as the 'worst of both worlds' — neither a partner nor a threat — and producing a chaotic, incoherent strategy as a result. The committee also revealed that a government audit on UK-China relations finished in June 2025 and has never seen the light of day.
MPs are pushing for an outright ban on Chinese technology in Britain's critical national infrastructure.
Labour's 'diplomatic politeness' towards Beijing has been called inexplicable given the scale of China's threat to Britain.
