'Much-loved mum' is arrested on suspicion of murder after woman dies when car crashes into wall in Bridgend

Yvonne Kemp's car hit a wall on Coity Road at 12.43pm on Monday, but South Wales Police say she had injuries 'unrelated' to the crash. The 47-year-old from North Cornelly died in hospital. Armed officers then swooped on Ger-y-Nant, a sheltered complex for over-60s, where the Bridgend man was arrested on suspicion of murder. Relatives called her a 'much-loved mum, nana, sister and auntie'.

Witness Darren Owen saw armed police and SWAT teams climbing onto the building's roof.

Darren Owen saw police bring a man out of the 13-flat complex at about 1am.

Residents were moved out overnight and told to 'sign in and out' of their homes.
