Natalee Holloway's mother tells new Netflix series how she confronted Joran van der Sloot years before he confessed to murder
Beth Holloway, mother of murdered teenager Natalee Holloway, has described confronting killer Joran van der Sloot at his Aruba home in 2005 — knowing in her gut he was lying, years before he admitted the truth. The confrontation is revealed in new Netflix docuseries 'Taken: Natalee Holloway', released this week. Beth said van der Sloot's own lawyer father urged his son to "just say it" during the tense exchange.
Van der Sloot, now 39, didn't confess to beating Natalee to death on a beach until 2023 — nearly two decades after her disappearance.
Beth recalled van der Sloot falsely claiming Natalee stumbled from his car, hit her head, and was helped inside by hotel security.
Natalee's body has never been found, and van der Sloot has never formally been charged with her murder despite his 2023 confession.
